Another new brand for us in the coming season is british Universal Works.
Universal Works is the brainchild of David Keyte who started his adult life working in the coal mines of South Derbyshire. All the money Keyte earned working in the mines he spent on clothes, which eventually led him to get a job at the Paul Smith store in Nottingham. He quickly rose to work on the Paul Smith product team where he worked for 13 years. After his long career with Paul Smith he has worked as prodution manager both at Selfridges & for brands like Albam & Maharishi before starting up his own label, Universal Works, in 2008.
Universal Works clothing are based of traditional british workwear, but designed in modern shapes & great fits. Universal Works produces nearly all their clothing in small scale factories in the UK & mainly work with classic, hard wearing fabrics such as 3 by 1 cotton twill, canvas, chambray & wax cottons from British Millerain.
Check back very soon for a look at the garments we're stocking from Universal Works this coming season
