The third mix tape in our Music Mix series comes straight from New York City & features dj-duo Beg to Differ! Beg to Differ is Wurst (a record label that's put out fantastic music from the likes of Brennan Green, Neurotic Drum Band & Native Underground) head honcho My Cousin Roy, a dj you can best describe as an inimitable party machine, who's positive energy instantly transmits through his legendary dj-sets, & Nick Chacona, a renowned dj & producer who's music has been released on labels like Bearfunk, 2020 Vision, Moodmusic & of course, Wurst.
Besides being excellent dj's on their own, Roy & Nick complement each other in the best possible way as Beg to Differ, we dare say that their dj-sets are the stuff of legends! The duo not only enjoys great success in New York, but have also toured throughout the world, playing at the best venues in Berlin, Stockholm, Paris, Brussels, Reykjavik & Sydney to name but a few.
The mix Beg to Differ has put together for us draws inspiration from Roy's last visit to Stockholm, when he got to experience the summer solstice & the mystically light Scandinavian summer nights that it brings. In other words, it is the perfect soundtrack to the upcoming mid summer night festivites!

We've just recieved a restock of three of our favourite rigid models from Levis Vintage Clothing! Echoing the time honoured traditions of the Levi's brand, LVC rigid denims are artisanaly produced to perfectly mimic the originals.
The post-war 501 is regarded as the definite five pocket jean & the quintessential 501 model. During the war Levi's 501's had been in short supply & by 1947 the highly sought after jeans was finally restored, but with some adjustments still seen in the pant today. The cinch back, crotch rivet & suspender buttons were removed for good, the arcuate was now stitched with a twin needle instead of being single stitched & the original zinc buttons & copper rivets enjoyed a comeback. It is an awesome versatile straight cut, made in the USA of the finest Cone Mills 12.5 oz shrink-to-fit red selvage denim.
The 1967 505 is a classic iconic 1960's design. It is a slimmer pant made from pre-shrunk denim that perfectly captured the trend of the day. A garment adopted by youth culture, the 505's became a wardrobe staple for everyone from the mods & skinheads in Europe to the hippie-kids in the USA. One of the last Levi's jeans to bare the two-sided big E tab & the copper waistband button, the 1967 505 remains hugely popular today.
1954 was the first year Levi's made their famous model with a zipper fly, aptly named 501Z. This model was launched along side the regular button fly version to better meet the demands of east coast customers, who weren't accustomed to the rugged button fly jeans of the west. It is a USA made classic, slimmer & tapered 1950's cut, done up in 13.75 oz Red listed shrink-to-fit selvage denim from Cone Mills.
We just recieved a new delivery from Swedish brand Love & Loyalty MFG (LALMFG). The delivery consists of an assortment of colorways of their beautiful brass fish hooks.

The brass hooks are made in japan by the same company as the hard ware on their lanyards (see here), wound by hand in solid brass. The beads are hand made by the artisans at Japan's oldest glass bead factory. The leather tassles are made from natural vegetable tanned Tärnsjö leather. Put together this all becomes some of the finest accessories we've ever seen!

As you may have noticed @ caliroots.com/c-store we just recieved a restock of the superb Momotaro0701 jeans. With the restock we came a new beautiful release from Momotaro entitled ER007-2B

These jeans are the same cut as the 0701, but made up in a fantastic sanforized 15 oz indigo dyed warp/ black suplhur dyed weft denim. As with all Momotaro jeans, the denim is made from extra long staple Zimbabwean cotton, they are super stiff at first, but with wash & wear they will over time become much softer & mold & shape to your body to an excellent fit. A very remarkable fabric that we are sure will fade in the most beautiful way!
The ER007-2B feature all the goodies such as deer skin leather patch sewn together in one seam with the waist band, hidden back pocket rivets, Momotaro peach logo tab & rivets, union special chain stitched hems, 5 oz indigo chambray pocket bags, pink inseam stitches & a pink selvage line.
These jeans are available now at our C Store retail space in Stockholm & will also go live online shortly!
